Beauty Talks with Aliza Rajan, Miss India Kenya 2015

Aliza Rajan Miss India Kenya 2015

Aliza Rajan, Miss India Kenya 2015 was a contestant at the Miss India Worldwide 2015 pageant. Although the beautiful lady didn’t win the crown, she sure left a charming impact on the memories of everyone she met. And how can we say that..?? Well, look at her innocent face and that pretty smile. She is as unique as her name, “Aliza”. If we have to use one word to define Aliza, we would say “Bella”.

In an interview with Angelopedia, the beautiful Aliza Rajan shared her thoughts, experiences, and aspirations in the world of pageantry. Below is the transcript of her interview…

Q. How was your journey at the Miss India Worldwide 2015 pageant?
Phenomenol! You don’t realize when you’re competing in a pageant, the amount of energy and dedication it takes. In less than one week, we learnt the choreography for the finale, we were coached on how to walk, how to carry ourselves, what to say on the finale and how to say it. Some days, we spent 12 hours rehearsing followed by fittings for a fashion show! The journey was incredible. And above all, the best part was the relationships built with the contestants who came from all around the world. We the contestants became family whilst competing against each other and still continue to be very much in touch, irrespective of all the stereotyping about girl fights and fake personalities during pageants.

Q. What motivated you to participate in the pageant?
In all honesty, I never even thought of becoming a beauty queen and participating in a worldwide pageant. But after being presented with the opportunity, my family motivated me to give it my best and being able to represent my country on an international platform was an absolute honour.  I was able to represent the Indian in me while proudly being Kenyan.  My favorite Bollywood stars, Aishwarya Rai and Priyanka Chopra both won titles in pageants such as this and this was an inspiration since they were also actively involved in all sorts of charity work.

Q. You have a very appealing name “Aliza”… What does it mean?
Thank you! Aliza in Arabic means the daughter of Ali. It also means joyful and happy!

Q. If there were no rules in your life for a day, what all would you do?
Eat everything, I mean everything!

Q. Do you watch Bollywood movies? If you were to marry a Bollywood star, who would it be and why?
Yes of course I do, I love anything Bollywood related.  Most definitely, Sidharth Malhotra! I was head over heels when I watched “Student Of The Year”. Why? Because of his charisma, good looks, he’s brilliant at what he does and he gives back to the community.

Q. What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done in your life?
I’d be crazy to tell anyone! Think I’ll have to pass on this one!

Q. Describe a day in Aliza Rajan’s life..!!
Well, a normal day in my life would involve attending lectures, spending a few hours a day on my clothing line and modelling projects, meeting friends and going to zumba classes in the evening.

Q. If you could paint the world into one colour, what colour would you choose and why?
I would suggest Peace as the “colour”, imagine that!

Q. What according to you  defines femininity? Can a woman be both feminine and tomboyish?
Femininity can take on many forms, because it is distinctive to each woman. I strongly belieinve what defines femininity is being okay with who you are, no matter how you choose to be or what you choose to do. It also entails respecting the choices that others make. So yes, a woman can most definitely be both feminine and tomboyish.

Q. Precious or Priceless… What would you choose?
Priceless! Someone recently told me, at times you have to let go of something precious in order to get something priceless.

Q. If you wish to write an autobiography, what would you title it as?
“Behind the scenes”, simply because most people perceive this industry and pageant girls to be living a life full of glitz and glamour whereas there’s so much more behind the pretty faces and photographs. An autobiography is an account of your life written by you, so this should be the real you.

Q. What according to you is unique about the Indian culture and ethnicity?
Every culture is special and valued in their own ways. The uniqueness of the Indian culture and ethnicity lies in its strong values. For instance, the elderly are considered superior and are therefore treated with utmost respect and love. Despite the development and modernity, the people of India stay rooted in their strong culture and heritage.

Q. Any message for your fans on Angelopedia?
Stay humble, work hard, be kind & always do more of what makes you happy. Thank you for all your love and support, I promise to live up to my title as Miss India Kenya 2015!
